You can find more information on the Brachiosaurus at your local library, or on Wikipedia. Stay tuned next week for some exciting announcements. Penny and I have some ideas for dinosaur hunter badges and activities at future shows. 😀
Stegosaurus is my favorite dinosaur, so my daughter Abby drew one for me. While cutting it out, I got to thinking about it’s tail. Reading about Stegosaurus, I learned that they have two rows of two spikes on their tails, but Abby’s looked more like an Anklyosaurus tail to me. Which got me thinking about familys of Dinosaurs and whether… Read more »
Today’s Watercolor Wednesday is kind of unusual. Obviously, these aren’t straight watercolors, but this was always kind of the direction I was headed for when starting the Penny Loves Dinosaurs project. One thing that is awesome about working on this project is getting to spend some real personal time with kid’s drawings, and seeing what is important to them. Check out those awesome curlies around the Triceratops’ frill. Would you have thought to put those there? I’m not sure that I would have, but I will now. 🙂
I met Makynzi at the Saint Louis Science Center while doing a featured artist spot in their Dinosaurs in Motion exhibit. It was a lot of fun chatting with her and her dad. She loves art, and wanted to make this drawing extra realistic for us.
Another “guest” strip featuring penny, and a fantastic drawing by 6 year old Wyatt! Thanks for stopping and visiting me at the Science Center, Wyatt! I’ll be there again on Wednesday, July 30 doing more Penny drawings, so hopefully I’ll see some of you there!
Introducing Penny, who loves Dinosaurs. This is a collaborative project with kids and dinosaur lovers who do drawings, and then we add in backgrounds and Penny talking about the dinosaur. We’re really excited about the project, and looking forward to seeing where it goes. Penny will be a regular Friday Feature on the blog.
